How a Make a Play works
The play is split into 4 scenes with a max class size of 35. If you have small groups you can make 2 groups and learn two scenes each or 3 groups one class can do two scenes. Usually you can fit assembly and three lessons in the morning and one more lesson and the show in the afternoon. These lessons are from 45 minutes to an hour and about 30 minutes for the show.
At the end of the day all the classes come together to perform the show. The splats teacher acts as narrator which helps to guide the play along and of course acts as a cue for the pupils. We very much recommend inviting parents and any classes not taking part to watch the show as of course it works best with an audience!
Please drop us a line with the date/s you require and approximate amount of pupils and we will send you a quote by return. We offer discounts on multiple days and you can choose from our selection of Make a Play days and book over a full range of age groups. We have shows that are suitable for the youngest to oldest pupils and most shows can be adapted for all ages.
You will be amazed at what is achieved in a day
WHERE DO YOU TRAVEL TO ?
We travel across mainland Britain.
DO YOU NEED ANYTHING ELSE?
We need a sound system and although not essential access to any lighting or staging you have..
HOW MANY OF YOU ARE THERE?
It is always one Splats artist per session of up to 35 pupils. Please talk to us if you have more pupils.
DO WE NEED TO DO ANY PREPARATION BEFORE THE DAY?
All the days are designed to be self contained i.e. you don’t need to do anything before the day. There is a teaching pack where you will have props and masks you can make out of card, paper, paint and glue. You may want to order stock.
WHAT TIME IS THE SHOW?
The show is performed thirty minutes before the end of your day so it can coincide with the finish of the day.
DO YOU NEED THE HALL??
We do need the hall all day except for lunch of course.
HOW MANY MEMBERS OF OUR STAFF DO YOU NEED FOR SUPPORT?
We need the staff ratio that you would normally have plus our Splats teacher. Your staff will be responsible for the pupils tertiary care.
CAN WE PERFORM THE SHOW OURSELVES AGAIN AFTER THE DAY?
Once Splats have created the show with the school on the date given, then the booking school has the right to perform the show twice the same term but must credit verbally, in programs, posters, websites, newspapers, social media, recorded media and all communications that the show is \’Created by Splats Entertainment.\’ At the end of term the copyright reverts to Splats Entertainment and the school will need to apply if they wish to perform the show again. Please speak to Splats office for further advice.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for a fantastic day!! The children gained so much from the experience while having so much fun at the same time! It waswonderfull to see the childrens’ confidence grow as they took on the various roles. I think we may have discovered some budding thespians! Everyone who watched the show had a brilliant time too. Nick was excellent, holding it all together and inspiring the children with his enthusiasm. I hope he had as much fun as we did!
