How a Splats Day Works
The show is composed, learned and performed by up to 4 classes in one day. In a magical show family and friends delight in what has been created in the end of day show.
Our directors deliver an assembly to brief your poet performers on the exciting task ahead and guide the teachers on prop making tasks.
Creating The Show
The show is split in to four sections with pupils learning a set poem and then composing a new original work with their Splats teacher in their classroom.
Rehearsals are active, fun and a real challenge for all.
Class sessions are ideally an hour long with 30 minutes for the end of the day show, but this can be flexible depending on your timings.
Making The Set and Props
This will be all described in our teaching pack which you will receive on booking but contains simple tasks designed to help enhance the action in the afternoon show.
The Splats Teacher acts as a Narrator that guides the play along and helps to cue the pupils where necessary. We very much recommend inviting parents and any classes that may not have taken part in the day to watch the show as it always feels better with a supportive audience!
No time for any nerves – just straight to the stage in a fun, light-hearted way
Splats Make a Play days are available UK wide. We do not charge for travel. All our teachers carry DBS checks and we have full public liability insurance.
