How a Make a Play works

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_accordion][vc_accordion_tab title=”Assembly”][vc_column_text]Drama workshops treasure island showA Make a Play day begins with an assembly to introduce the pupils and teachers to the play and the characters they will be playing. This gives our teacher/narrator the opportunity to explain the story and also the tasks ahead for the pupils and the teachers.[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Learning the scenes”][vc_column_text]scrooge group splatThe play is split into 4 scenes with a max class size of 35. If you have small groups you can make 2 groups and learn two scenes each or 3 groups one class can do two scenes. Usually you can fit assembly and three lessons in the morning and one more lesson and the show in the afternoon. These lessons are from 45 minutes to an hour and about 30 minutes for the show.[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Making the set and props”][vc_column_text]treasure island What a faceAfter assembly our teacher will work with the first group and the other three groups start making the props and scenery as described in our teaching pack.. These are very simple and not compulsory. The splats teacher acts as narrator which helps to guide the play along and of course acts as a cue for the pupils. [/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”HOW MANY OF YOU ARE THERE?” open=”false”] It is always one Splats artist per session of up to 35 pupils. Please talk to us if you have more pupils. [/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”DO WE NEED TO DO ANY PREPARATION BEFORE THE DAY?” open=”false”] All the days are designed to be self contained i.e. you don’t need to do anything before the day. There is a teaching pack where you will have props and masks you can make out of card, paper, paint and glue. You may want to order stock. [/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”WHAT TIME IS THE SHOW?” open=”false”] The show is performed thirty minutes before the end of your day so it can coincide with the finish of the day. [/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”HOW MANY MEMBERS OF OUR STAFF DO YOU NEED FOR SUPPORT?” open=”false”] We need the staff ratio that you would normally have plus our Splats teacher. Your staff will be responsible for the pupils tertiary care. [/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”CAN WE PERFORM THE SHOW OURSELVES AGAIN AFTER THE DAY?” open=”false”] Once Splats have created the show with the school on the date given, then the booking school has the right to perform the show twice the same term but must credit verbally, in programs, posters, websites, newspapers, social media, recorded media and all communications that the show is \’Created by Splats Entertainment.\’ At the end of term the copyright reverts to Splats Entertainment and the school will need to apply if they wish to perform the show again.
